Most children enjoy watching children’s programs and often also learn important things through the programs. It is therefore no surprise that pediatrician Steve Silvestro wanted to write a letter to Dr. Pehmola, who is the main star of a television program of the same name.

In this letter, Silvestro attempts to refute a number of critical arguments associated with the program. His opinion is in stark contrast to a study commissioned by Harvard University whose results on the character’s effects were very negative. The results of the study found, among other things, that children following the Pippa Pig program are at a higher risk of developing autism. This research result was declared false by many health professionals as well as by the university itself.

Shortly after the publication of the results of the study, Steve Silvestro published his own letter in which he thanked the creators of the character Dr. Plush and encouraged the children not to be afraid of doctors.

“As you probably know, it is normal for us doctors to discuss common patients with each other. So I’ve recently noticed that you and I actually treat a lot of the same patients. I wanted to tell you how much you have helped many different people and also my patients. First of all, I want to tell you that you have made my job a lot easier. ”

According to a U.S. doctor, many of his patients are no longer afraid of a doctor after watching that program. The pre-existing fear of doctors may have disappeared with following the program. Many of the doctor’s patients are now even excited to come to the doctor’s office and wear the white coat characteristic of a doctor.

“If a child is scared when he arrives at my reception, all I have to do is sing the theme song of the program, and the atmosphere is immediately much more relaxed. That way the kids know I’m on their side and they don’t have to be afraid of me. Everyone who watches the program knows that you are using your stethoscope to bring your toy to life. Because of this, children are no longer afraid of my stethoscope. Children see the stethoscope as a magical tool for new worlds. Sometimes I fool around with a stethoscope and I might put it on a child’s elbow or a child’s nose. This relaxes the atmosphere and makes my job easier. ”

“I also want to tell you that you are helping children cope with more than just coming to the doctor’s office. You help children overcome their fears and make ends meet in their friendships and even when new siblings arrive home. You help children cope with everyday problems and difficult situations that sometimes occur in a child’s life. ”

A good tool for motivation

Dr. Pehmola knows how to treat his patients with love and listens carefully to their worries and thoughts.

“You give doctors a good example of how they should listen to their patients and their worries. Especially with children who are scared by the situation, doctors should be very careful and understanding. ”

However, this is not the only good example the character gives to children. Dr. Pehmola’s dreams of a future profession and a desire to be a doctor like his mother are a great example for children. Now, many children want to listen to their own heart with a stethoscope and express their desire to study to be a doctor one day.

“So once again, I want to thank you for making my job easier. You’re a great role model for young children, and I think it’s great to be able to continue caring for my patients with your help. ”
